Why We Chose Helichrysum for Reactive Skin

Sensitive, stress-reactive skin does not need more stimulation. It needs calm.

For generations, people around the Mediterranean have turned to Helichrysum, also called Immortelle, to comfort irritated skin. Today, it is one of the most exciting plants in skincare research.

In 2025, scientists mapped Helichrysum’s complete genome for the first time. This year, a new lab study found strong anti-inflammatory activity in extracts from its flowers. And a major review of the research highlighted two findings that matter for reactive skin:

  • In lab studies, compounds from Helichrysum calmed several of the signals that drive inflammation.

  • In research that included human studies, natural plant compounds in Helichrysum, called flavonoids, helped ease redness and protect skin from UV exposure.
